Many thanks for pointing out that Lim Guan Eng (LGE) would be self-sabotaging Penang by refusing to privatize the Penang port.
After all, LGE must realize the investments and port efficiencies when privatized.Take the Port Klang Free Trade Zone (PKFZ). It has cost the government billions to build. It's so efficient. It is now raking in billions and we will soon get our return of investment. It was also run by a GM who had some trouble reading financial statements, but nevertheless, the results were fantastic.
So, LGE, please take a leaf from Dr. Chua's book. It would make billions. Very good investment. Why decline it?
