Reasons why we need Menara Warisan

There have been various protest about the 100-storey building. I think people fail to see why we really need a tall building. There are many benefits:

  1. Tree replacement program. Now that KL city via DBKL has got rid of lots of trees, we still need some shade. What better way than to build a mega structure to provide relief from the hot sun? The shadows will be long and it will benefit many, including some poor squatters.

  2. Flood relief centre. This would be the ideal place for flood victims. The tall tower will be well above the flood waters unless it is of biblical proportions. Flood victims will no longer need to climb above their roofs or cling to trees when it floods. Just climb up Menara Warisan. One can sit there, enjoy the view while awaiting for the floods to subside.

  3. Parking. Yup, believe it or not, Menara Warisan will provide tonnes of parking space to the ever congested city. How? Menara Warisan is not reachable by rail. So, it will start to turn all roads around the Menara Warisan to one large parking bay. Cars will be there for hours before they need to move along. What more? It is free. No need to pay RM 3.50 per hour. Just park your car there and walk the rest of the way. In addition, some areas will just be good as a covered car-park when Menara Warisan cast its shadows on the raped planet.

  4. Malaysian culture. Yes - Menara Warisan is meant to preserve our culture. If you have noticed, it is right next to VI - or Victorian Institute, one of the more prestigious schools of the past era. How on earth can the Melayu Tuans have a VI around? So, there is a need to drive VI out. If such a massive construction work does not drive them out, I am not sure what will. The government is no longer to acquire land by force, as it could turn out to be ugly. So, just drive them out naturally. In an unrelated incident, some of Malaysian's brightest students have fled to Singapore to avoid the pollution from an unnamed mega project.

  5. MACC HQ. The new Menara Warisan could also double up as a MACC head office. It would be highly interesting to see MACC occupying the highest floor of the building. This way, using strong binoculars, MACC officers could keep an eye on many streets to watch up for police officers offering "on the spot settlement" to motorist. MACC hopes to work out a business proposition on profit sharing on this lucrative yet efficient "on-the-spot settlement". MACC could also inform the police when a traffic offence takes place, helping both parties to increase revenue from traffic offenders.

  6. No Autopsy Cost. With MACC on the top floor, bodies of unfortunate witnesses could be thrown out, sorry, I mean suicide, ... more efficiently. MACC "suicide victims" could enjoy a clear view of KL before taking the final plunge. MACC hopes that the atmospheric friction will burn up the body. In any case, any remains will just be a red stain on the background, avoiding the long drawn controversies seen in the Teoh Beng Hock case. This will also eliminate the need to bring in foreign experts to perform autopsies, thus saving the public purse from unnecessary funds outflow to UK and Thailand.
These are the only few key benefits that I could think of. I am sure there are many more. Do leave your comments to add to the list here. Let's support a mega project.

Zaid ... a true NEP product

Well, Zaid Ibrahim is busy quitting PKR. It is turning out to be a long drawn affair. Well, from what I could see, Zaid is a true product of NEP. He has the hand-out mentality. To be fair, he is not alone. He expected to be someone, to win the PKR elections. He has not worked his way up (hack, he just joined recently), but yet, he expects something. The true handout mentality. I am sure there are plenty of other candidates, with a longer track record who can serve better. Even MP Loh Gwo Burne has been with PKR for longer periods.

This mentality has also infected businesses. People get promoted on seniority, rather than on achievements. Many times, a engineer is simple promoted to be a manager. In my view, it would be better they remain in engineer with a higher salary for more responsibilities. Why? Most of the time, they make horrible managers. Don't blame them - they were never trained for it.

How many companies look at the record of a true professional? For example, number of research papers, number of citation, presentations, patents, publications? Almost never, especially for Malaysian companies. Some MNCs do. As for the rest the hand-out mentality rules. If I have graduated with a First Class Honours, I expect a good salary. I say, eff that. You work for it.

It is high time both political and the commercial mindset be changed. No one should just sit there and expect to be voted. In Zaid's case, what has he done? Has he a draft of proposed legal admentments should he be elected Prime Minister? How does he plan to clean up the judiciary? How many pro-bono cases is he representing now? What are his contributions to the rakyat? To the nation?

A true hero in this field would be no other than Mr. Karpal Singh. Yup - always DAP. Worked hard. Stayed in DAP. ISA didn't stop him. Ops Lalangs did not worry him. He fights. Represents victims of injustice (Teoh Beng Hock, the Seremban mechanic murder case, and many others). I can only be thankful to see Gobind having such great values. I don't think Zaid even helped in Anwar's sodomy II case.

Well, this is what happens to NEP, ketuanan Melayu, UMNO politics and more handouts. Frankly, I doubt it if the non-Malays want NEP removed. Why make real competitors? The current bunch is just good for business.

Sri Muda Massage

Been to this massage a few months ago - and I cannot even remember if I have written about it. Well, there is this massage , corner shop, 1st floor. It is at Taman Sri Muda, near Jalan Suci 25/83. The name of this one is Aromaz Resources. It can be seen from the main road. I was there late, at about 11.30pm.

I was welcomed by a middle age lady, large size. She's sloppy. Quickly lead me to the room and started the massage. The massage itself is RM 50, kind of expensive for a place like Sri Muda. She's Thai, by the way. The massage was OK. But she was pushing real hard to 'sell' me the extras - basically a handjob. I said no thanks. I doubt it very much if my privates would even get hard.

She kept telling me how important it would be for a massage at the private part, la la la. I said no. She dropped the price to RM 30, then RM 20. I still said no. Guess what, she said, massage over. It was only 40 minutes.

Didn't even bother to see if she changed the sheets - because I am pretty sure I will not return. Better place to spend my money.

Tender Touch Massage, Kota Kemuning

I got the itch yesterday for a massage. So, off I went to this place in Kota Kemuning. I have been noticing it for a number of times when I am in Kota Kemuning for banking. So, why not give it a try?

At first look, the place has a hallmark of a 'fuck shop', if you get what I mean. It has CCTV at the main door and there is the usual magnetic lock on the door. Upon entering, I found the place to be nicely decorated. Price for full body massage is RM 55 per hour, or RM 100 for two hours. New to the place, I would just go for the one hour massage. Just in case it turns out to be a torture.

I massuer I was 'given' is new in Malaysia. The massage is OK. I would rate it about 6.5 out of 10. Not painful. More relaxing. She was somewhat abrupt with some moves, but over all it is OK. No offer for urut batin / handjob. That's OK. I was hoping to get a massage for my little brother too.

The most horrible part was after the massage. The gal did not bother to change the sheets. She merely re-adjusted the sheets. Ewwww. I really cannot understand why they would cut cost by not washing the sheets. Surely there is still sufficient profits. If you must re-use the sheets, do not do it in front of the customers.

Will I return? Nope. Not clean. Still prefer my usual place in USJ.

Shah Alam Massage

I went to this massage place in Sri Muda. It has a bright red HOTEL sign on top. Well, after a long week, I wanted to relax. Was hoping for a happy ending too.

Alas, I got to the room, two old aunties showed up, Thais. One was for another customer. Good grief. This was significantly different from the hottie I got the last time I went there. Anyway, this auntie has seen better days. Big boobs, but I guess it would sag badly. Wrinkles too.

She started with a quick back massage and asked me to turn around. Started to massage near by Adam. Well, to say the least, me and my adam was just not interested. She kept offering 'urut batin', massage ping pong. Price drop from RM 50 to RM 20. I rather not. And I didn't.

So, she figured out I wanted a true massage. Well, her massage is good. Very strong. Not those with the sharp pain. Deep tissue kind of massage. After two days, it hurts a bit, but in a good way.

Well, I don't think I will return. Place is not the cleanest. Cost is RM 50 for 45 mins - she short changed me by 15 mins but I didn't want to make a scene. I rather get my massage from USJ. More decent. Will have to go hunting for more...

The Amirul Case

Well, let the circus begin. That's what they all say. I have been scratching my head already. Here are two articles from MCA-controlled The Star:

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2010/10/13/nation/20101013202815&sec=nation

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2010/10/13/nation/7215803&sec=nation

Firstly, one of the articles say that there were 19 bullets casing fired by one police officer at the scene. Amirul, the victim, is a 15 year old boy.

The question is - how on earth did a police offer fire 19 bullets. That would be difficult if it is from a revolver. He must have been damn quick at reloading it. In any case, I doubt it. Why shoot the poor guy 19 times?

The next article provides some light. It says the police officer in question has training with MP5. That's a sub-machine gun. So, did the police machine-gun a 15 year old? Wow! You mean, he didn't machine gun him? So, he shot him 19 times, and he was a sharp shooter? I just fail to connect the logic. Did the poor boy have 18 lives? Had to be shot 19 times accurately before he died?

Another fact to note - a MP5 has a magazine of 15 bullets (based on wikipedia). Hmmm. So, he did have the time to re-load and continue shooting.

Too many facts do not fit the case. Just like - where did the C4 explosives come from to blow up Altantuya? What's the motive of the two policemen to murder Altantuya? The circus continues.

Why I love My House

Disclaimer: I am writing this entirely on my own. I am not paid nor requested by Paramount Development. These are entirely my own views.

I have purchased my house for a year now, in Kota Kemuning. Sign the contract in July 2009, got the keys a year ago. Time flies. Well, my house is still pretty empty due to the lack of income this year. In any case, it beginning to look like a very good purchase. It is a corner lot, with more than 30 by 70 feet of garden.

The house was developed by Paramount. And here are the reasons why I think it is better than some other houses that I've seen, including those in Putra Heights.

  1. Paramount gives value for money paid. Drains are enclosed. No open drains in the front of the house.
  2. Power supply is three phase. Not required, but Paramount didn't mind spending the extra money. Three phase power allows me to expand my house in the future without the need to worry about insufficient power supply.
  3. Under-ground cabling. TNB Power cables are installed underground. No unsightly poles and wires running around.
  4. Good water pressure from the water mains.
  5. No problem with 'dirty' or muddy water. I suspect the pipes are in a ring layout rather than a dead-end configuration.
  6. Telephone cables - 10 pairs from the house's junction box to Telekom's junction box. Usually, they put in only one or two pairs. If it is damaged by lightning, there isn't too much spares around.
  7. Wide back lanes.
  8. Tiles are MML tiles. Very high quality indeed.
  9. Jotun paint is used. Again, high quality.
  10. House has high ceiling. Makes it cooler.
  11. No faulty plumbing (eg clogged toilets) during handover
  12. No faulty wiring (eg, light or power point fails to work)
  13. No faulty phone points (I heard my Telekom installer describing Gamuda's development nearby - more than 80% of the phone points in the house did not work!)
  14. Wiring are in actual conduits, not just part conduit part cemented into the wall.
  15. Electrical distribution box - MCB, MCCB and ELCBs are by EPS. A Malaysian brand, but has quality. Some developer uses some less known brands. Some even without SIRIM approval. EPS parts are not the cheapest in town.
  16. Wiring and cabling are correctly sized. Some developers or their contractors under-size the cables to cut cost.
  17. Paramount actually has land reserved for green lungs. Try Sime Darby. They sell and develop everything (case and point - USJ). They even want to develop the lake near SS15. Bugger.
  18. Plastering work is very well done. Walls are considered very smooth given that it is done by the developer.
  19. Provides autogate wiring - using proper armoured cable. Some buggers (including private autogate installers) would use ordinary PVC cables. That will cause never ending problems.
  20. Electrical Earthing of my house is actually below 5 ohms. This is better than some power stations and well below the ISO requirement of at most 8 ohms.
In short, I trust that Paramount has done their best and indeed delivers quality. They do not cut corners and do not mind spending the extra. I truly appreciate it :)

I Love Shah Alam

I have been staying in Shah Alam for more than 9 months now. All I can say is, I love it. Here's why.
  1. A lot less traffic.
  2. It is close to major highways, KESAS, LKSA, Federal Highway, Shapadu, Lekas and NKVE.
  3. Plenty of parking in front of Maybank Kota Kemuning. Try that in Taipan!
  4. EPF has plenty of parking, and cheap too.
  5. Telekom Malaysia has its own building, with ample FREE parking.
  6. General Post Office is here - and yes, it has lots of free parking too.
  7. We have Tesco. Giant Hypermarket is being built.
  8. We have lots of KFC, McD and even a Burger King outlet. (no, don't eat too much fast food)
In contrast, here's what you get in USJ:
  1. The forever jam in Jalan Kewajipan, especially the Giant - Summit - KESAS intersection.
  2. Too many schools along Jalan Tujuan, causing jams.
  3. Hardly any undeveloped space.
  4. All offices are in shoplots.
  5. Taipan is badly conjested, yet morons put up more buildings.
  6. USJ 9 is also badly conjested.
  7. Lack of government offices (EPF for example)
  8. LDP is always conjested.
  9. Toll at KESAS to KL, and LDP to Puchong.
  10. Houses are getting way to expensive
  11. Number one spot for dengue
Sime UEP has made a royal mess out of USJ. Every corner has been developed. Stuffed. Mind you, there is no major improvement in infrastructure. Still two roads in and out of USJ - namely Jalan Kewajipan and Jalan Tujuan. All access roads have at least two traffic lights. That's the killer.

Sure, they have some new fly overs near SS15 along Jalan Kewajipan, but the traffic lights at the KESAS junction is still there. You see a new bus station? Or a new bus stand? Nope.

This is what happens when greedy bastards run the place. Build as much as they can. They are still building some houses near Jalan Kewajipan / LDP. And they want more bungalows at the park / lake in SS15. All the town council can say is....approve approve approve. And the bastards and stuffing as many condos and shopping complexes near the KTM station - where the new Empire shopping mall is. You see the KTM station getting bigger? Nope. Bastards aren't they? OK - go blame KTM for the station, but do they build their own bus stops? Or cater for public transport? Or a good taxi rank? Nope. I wouldn't even want to imagine how conjested Subang Jaya will be with all the new condos occupied.

I must note that under the new government, the few bungalows in the padang near my house there has not started work. Apparently MPSJ didn't give out the build as you like order. So, voting for a new government did help.

In short, Subang Jaya and USJ is nothing but a mad house. Good for retired folks, as they move about after peak hours. But if you are a working professional, I suggest Shah Alam.

Security That Works

Cannot remember if I posted this or not, but I have my own house now on the edges of Shah Alam. By design, it is fenced, but ungated nor guarded. There are about 100 houses or so in this small community.

Setting up security was a need. Four months ago, house break-ins were rampant. My neighbour lost his BMW. They broke into his house, took the keys and drove away the car. I am unsure if the insurance will even pay for the missing car.

Our system here is real different. Firstly, all we do is to appoint a security firm and pay them. That's all we do. Security labels for cars - security firm to provide. Heck, they even have to provide for a boom gate, and paint the gate as well. We do pay a fair bit, RM 80 per household.

But here-in lies the beauty of it. By the beginning of the month, most of us will pay the security guards. Most of us do not even need to be asked to pay. Reason? The guards has been damn effective and I sure hope they will continue to be as effective. Break-ins have dropped to zero. If my house alarm is trigger (always accidentally), they will be outside my house in less than 60 seconds. I suppose that with such good showing, potential criminals are deterred.

Some in the neighbourhood are still renovating. Drilling and hammering keeps triggering the alarms. But the guards do not give up. They will still come around to have a look every time the alarm is triggered. Criminals can no longer trigger alarms until everyone is fed-up then break in.

And yeah, if you must know, the guards must collect the monthly payments from the residents. This gives the residents an opportunity to provide direct feedback to the guards. No third parties. And if they provide bad service, they know they will not be paid.

So, to keep things simple, we have not bothered to form a Resident's Association (RA). We vote with our pockets. That's the best. If we do not like it, do not pay. Since they are doing a good job, we happily pay. This is a simple yet very effective arrangement.

Out on my own

It has been 9 months since I have started my own business and I am really struggling now. Cash flow has hit rock bottom. I have less than RM 200 in my bank account, owing my house loan RM 2100, RM 3000 credit cards, need another pair of glasses, owing an insurance policy RM 1200 and my passport is about to expire. Which means, I will have difficulties skipping the country.

It is never easy to start out, I know that. For my case, it was pushed than jumped. A couple of projects in the pipeline and I sure hope the pipe isn't too long. I need to see some results fast. Else, I will continue to owe the bank money.

I must admit it is not a bad thing to be broke. It teaches me a lot. For one, I know how it feels for those poor family with a nett income of RM 1500 per month and they have 3 or 4 kids to feed. It must even be more difficult for them. How can they make ends meet? Or do they still have to continue to 'change their lifestyle', as suggested by some high earning and probably corrupt ministers?

I have also learn more on how to manage with the little I have. What's the cheapest and most efficient way to get things done. In short, it makes me think harder. Makes me work harder and learn more.

Let's see what happens. Too bad this blog isn't making me any money. Maybe it is time to market my ass, but I doubt if it has any takers. Any offers? Going cheap.... perhaps RM 2 per kilo.

Superb Body

About a month ago, I went for a massage in Shah Alam, or Sri Muda to be precise. I am addicted to massages after my trips to Bangkok back in 2005. No, it wasn't the sexy kind. It was always the good massage by some old ladies. They apply the right pressure and the right places. You could 'feel' the massage, but never too hard to cause pain. Or too light to fall asleep.

Back to my visit to this place in Sri Muda. It's a hotel. The massage is only RM 40. In I went. (No, I didn't get to choose a gal - choosing a gal means the place is sleazy). This beautiful Thai gal came in. I guess she is between 26 to 30. Maybe younger. She had a killer body.

I was lying on my belly and she gave me a back massage, which is my favourite. Her massage was far from good, compared to the old aunties in Bangkok. Some how, she ended-up topless. She had the most beautiful boobs I have seen and touched. Solid. Unsure if it is C or D cup, but firm and real. No sagging. Wow. Yeah, by then she was offering me all sorts of services by then.

When it comes to boobs, I do not like gals with big overflowing boobs. It's for a simple reason. It is either fake, or saggy. I rather gals with smaller, firm and of course real boobs. Doesn't look that great when she dresses up, but what matters is, she looks damn good naked. Hehehe. Smaller boobs do remind me of younger gals. Oh well, as they say, I am a pervert, but not a pedophile.

Bola in Boleh Land

No big fan of football, but it was sad to read the article on Free Malaysia Today about KJ - Khairy as the vice president of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

Apparently, despite the kriss kissing antics, KJ could not turn the free-fall of Malaysian football around. He wants to resign. Again, the world laughs at us. On one hand, there is this big Ketuanan Melayu concept. Supremacy. But when it comes to football, alas, it is a big shame. Apparently the Malaysian fans got fed-up when South Korea kicked Greece's ass. Greece was the champion of some Euro Cup. But South Korea beat them. And we used to beat South Korea. At last, South Korea has advanced, moved on ahead - albiet without the supremacy concept, while we moved back.

Based on the FIFA world ranking, Malaysia is ranked at number 146 for April 2010, out of 202 teams. Notable countries better than Malaysia are Zimbabwe at rank 110, Rwanda (107), Singapore (127), Sierra Leon (130), Haiti (91) - does make our beloved country looks fucked-up right?, Qatar (96), Kuwait (97), Finland (52), Turkey (29), Israel (26), Ghana (32) and Bahrain (69). There are poorer countries way better than us - Ghana (32). There are Muslim countries miles ahead of us - Turkey is at a very respectable 29! So, isn't it just Bolehland that is lacking behind? I mean shit - how do we explain Haiti, Sierra Leon, Rwanda and Zimbabwe being better than Bolehland? I am not even talking about Brazil or Uruguay.

Last month, we got our ass kicked by Japan in Thomas Cup. Then stompped on by China. The real issue is, the rot is in the whole country. Not just one race. Not just one religion. Our badminton squad is one example of this. All these, despite the patronage of Dr. M's wife and now, Rosmah. Still got a good beating from countries that could hardly perform some time ago. Don't get me started about hockey.

I suppose the only time we, Malaysia, are really supreme would be supremely bad performers, or perhaps in the fields of corruption.

Raving Kris Kissers

I really cannot understand what goes on int he minds of the kris kissers, although that was years ago when it was shown on TV. Unsure if they will still kiss the kris. I do not mind when they are proud of their heritage, or if they put their race first. But what makes it looks ridiculous is despite all the talk - there are NO results.

Here's one fine example. Malaysia introduced Sepak Takraw into SEA games. We are suppose to be the king of sepak takraw. Guess that?

In 25th Sea Games in Laos, the men's regu event was won by Thailand, second place - Laos. Over all, in 2009, even Myanmar and Vietnam did better than Boleh land. So, where is the Ketuanan Melayu? Lots like we got our ass beaten by some so-called backward countries.

Instead of raving and kissing the kris, for crying out loud, please perform. What's the fantastic use of all the talk without any results. If anything, it brings shame to all Malaysians.

Friday 11 June 2010

Corruption? Not a problem here.

Is corruption a problem in Malaysia? Are we serious in preventing corruption? The mind boggles:

  1. Why not use red light cameras to catch offenders, instead of stopping them and ahem...bincang?
  2. Why not use automated speed traps and send the summons directly to the car owners, no need to ahem...bincang?
  3. Why still have road blocks to, ahem...bincang?
  4. PKFZ - bugget blown, white elephant is there - ahem, case close?
  5. Lingam case - not enough evidence. Karpal volunteered to prosecute. Ahem... still waiting
Just a few cases on top of my head. Enough to highlight my point. Moving along...

Naked NEP - 30% quota

Apparently Ibrahim Ali is very happy. He is the champion of Malays. Again, I am all for Malay rights and helping the poor. I am dead against corruption and murdering this country.

Ibrahim is happy that the 10th Malaysian Plan, MP10, has required the 30% Bumiputera equity in corporates to stay. More on why he is happy later. First, why has this quota system killed the country? The answer is simple - the world is now flat. With internet and air travel, borders mean nothing.

Fact: Indonesian Palm Oil companies have listed in the Singapore stock exchange, despite the fact that the Malaysian Palm Oil Exchange is more mature and has big players in it. Also despite the fact that Indonesians are "serumpun" and also an Islamic country.

Fact: Malaysians are now nett investors. In otherwords, Malaysians invest more overseas than we receive foriegn investors.

So, quota does drive away domestic and international investors. Surely, we all know that. But why is Ibrahim happy? How can he be happy given this situation, purely fictional - but you get the idea. Without quota, we may have RM 10 billion of investment, and Bumiputra may own only 10% of it - which works out to be RM 1 billion. With quota, investment drops to RM 1 billion and 30% of it is only RM 0.3 billion. I do not think this is far fetched - considering we have nett capital outflow. In other words, we have no NEW (nett) investments. It is more like 30% of RM 0.

But why is he sitll happy? Ahhhh..... the reason is, he is patriotic. UMNO is patriotic. Especially to the first DYMM of Malaysia (rather it was Malaya back then). It is not only RM 1 billion or RM 0.3billion. It is a matter of, "WHO's pocket it is in". RM 0.1 billion in my pocket is better than RM 1 billion in every Malaysian's pockets. But how, I hear you ask.

More rules means more procedures. More procedures mean more approvals. And more approval means? So, do you know the answer or not? Pass or fail? Hehehe. I leave it to your imagination.

Naked NEP - Business Opportunity

Here's another way how the NEP has been killing the very people they are suppose to help. It happens all the time, but I will only write about one scenerio. Again, I have nothing against Malay rights, or helping the poor. However, I would like to see proper help being given, not giving them the crumbs of corruption.

Typical scenerio in a PLUS highway rest area. There will be about 10 stalls, more or less. Sometimes a lot more. Let's say 10. Of the 10 or 20 stalls, you will notice that most of the stalls are Malays, save for maybe 2 for Chinese and 1 for Indians. On the surface, it is government policy to help the Malays. But at an economic level, it is a disaster.

Why? First point - no pork. Everything must be halal. That's OK, but it means that most Chinese will stay away from the rest areas. So, who's left to visit them? Malays, of course. They are the majority and it is halal. Now that we have established that the market is a Malay market, think about it. Let's say there are 1000 visitors a day.

These 1000 visitors have 7 stalls to choose from. Say they don't like the Indian or the Chinese shops - just for the sake of argument - and this may not be a fact. I am not saying it is a fact. But just say, 1000 visitors for 7 stalls. That works out to be about 140 visitors a day. Not alot. (Note - I really doubt is some of them have 50 customers). The rest areas are pretty close to each other too!

Now, compare it to a situation of only 2 Malay stalls - halal, and 8 non-halal Chinese shops. All of a sudden, there are 500 visitors per stall. That's four times more business. My point is, the government looks popular by helping many Malays by giving them licenses to business. But no one worked out the supply. Instead, they are given stiff competition, and so many stalls have hardly any business. Instead of having 2 rich Malays and the rest poor, now, they virtually bankrupt ever Malay.

Do not believe me? Take a look. Go to a rest area. They all sell about the same stuff. Go to a Pasar Tani (those government ones). They all sell about the same stuff. If I am a business owner there, I will complain. Why do you issue only licenses to Malay? If they issue it to a Chinese, it will never compete with a Malay business - Chinese food is typically not halal.

Silly isn't it? But why does the government do this? Easy. They are smart. 7 Malay votes for UMNO is better than 2 Malay votes. Ever since things this way?

The Naked NEP - Brain Drain

Corruption and silly protectionism has caused severe brain drain. Fact - not easy to get into a government university, despite the fact that they are not good compared to overseas universities. But there is still corruption. If you are so and so, you will get a place.

What will the rich do? Let's say - rich Chinese. They will want their kids to get a good education. No chance of getting into a local university. What to do next? Go overseas la. Mind you, if you can get into a pretigious overseas university, the student must be doing well. Try getting into Monash Uni or Melbourne Uni. Not easy. Not cheap.

This is when a double whammy hits Malaysia. All Malaysians are hit. First, we lose the talent. They go overseas. Due to low wages here, they are unlikely to come back. Added with bad policies, they won't even think of coming back. Second whammy - their parents are still earning from the Malaysian economy, but happily sending everything overseas for their kids.

I do not blame their parents. I was in the same situation. There is no chance for me in Malaysia. Only difference is I came back. The stupid policies have forced this onto us. Must study Islamic History. Must study Moral. These are nothing but waste of time. If it is attractive enough, students will select to study it.

What the government should have done is, make sure the rich and smart get a place in the Malaysian universities. Make the rich pay. The smart but poor must get a place too, and make sure they don't have to pay. Not give it to a so-and-so's son or daughter. This will keep talent, and money in the country.

But BN and others still prefer to be shout Ketuanan Melayu. Honestly, I do not mind at all. But no point talking about tuan this and tuan that when there is nothing left to be tuan about. They think they are doing everyone a favour. Actually, they are doing it for themselves. Not for the layman rakyat. Only the elite gets it.

The Naked NEP - Corruption

Low wages in Malaysia can be attributed to one and only one thing - corruption. Let me explain. The government is the largest employer in the country. Period. Wages in the government sector is not at all attractive. Even worse if we compare it to private sectors in Singapore.

But there is no shortage of civil staff right? No shortage of applicants to be police officers right? Firstly, I must admit that there are those in the civil service with the right attitude to serve and they are dedicated. But hardly too many of them. So, what are the rest doing there? Ahem - you got it right. The SIDE income is bloody attractive. Some call it side income, some say corruption.

If you have a car, you will know what happens. Everytime you see a police offer stopping someone, only one thing comes to mind. The one thing is - the police are very patriotic and they want to serve the King. Anyone notice that there is a picture of the Agong on our currency? Yes, so, we are all loyal to the Agong. For different reasons, of course. We all admire the Agong, especially the First DYMM of Malaysia. We all love his potrait.

This is when simple economics take over. Government is the biggest demand of labour. There is no shortage of supply. So, price remains low. If the Government is paying such low prices for labour, naturally, wages in the private sector won't be high. Why should the private sector pay so much more? If a cleaner in the government department gets RM 300, the private sector might pay only RM 400, or RM 500.

To improve wages, we must get rid of all the side income. Teachers giving tuition, land officers getting land, planning officers owning low cost units. The list continues. The side income must stop. Only then there will be less supply of work force to the Government. As supply dries up, prices will go up - assuming demand remains unchanged.

Having said that, it is not easy to get rid of corruption. It is already in-grained in our country. As they say, Malaysia does not have a problem with corruption. We welcome it. Hahaha.

The Naked NEP : Subsidies and Taxes

Subsidies are the crumbs of corruption thrown at the rakyat, after the Government has eaten the cake. Yet, we still yearn for more crumbs. Often, people say, the Government subsidizes sugar, petrol, etc. Bullshit. The Government is merely using our money to pay for the goods. It is not the Government who is subsidizing. It is our money.

Take petrol for example. My lousy Proton Wira has a RM 8000 excise duty on it. Yup - please do not think Protons are tax free. If you work it out, it will take me about 12 years to get back the equivalent in subsidies. Will my Proton last 12 years. I doubt it. In the mean time, petrol is wasted as the price is artificially low. That's our money. On top of that, some jokers in Singapore and Thailand are happily using our money for cheap petrol. I don't mind subsidizing their petrol when they are spending money in Malaysia, but not when it is consumed out of Malaysia.

But I hear you. Some say, the poor will suffer without subsidy. Really? Who is the poor? Generally, we will agree it is the fishermen and farmers. Let's take these two for now. Why are they poor. Because there is a price cap. Controlled item. So, the government is really screwing the poor isn't it? Paddy farmers in Vietname is rich, as prices of rice is sky high. But in Malaysia, it is a CONTROLLED ITEM.

So, price caps and subsidizes have caused a runaway effect. The poor becomes poorer. And our neighbours are sucking our pockets dry from subsidized products. The hot news now is it is easier to get Malaysian sugar in Thailand than in Malaysia. So, do you think BN can govern? They cannot even sort out our sugar supply.

Suggestion is simple. Get rid of the subsidy. Get rid of the tax. Get rid of the price control. Let market forces rule. I hear you ask - what about the workforce, the operators in factories? Surely, they will suffer. Read my next article!

Naked NEP

The nation has been crippled by subsidies, quotas, ceiling prices and taxes. I will now write a series of blogs to undress the NEP and other silly government policies. It writing is clear, but no one has even seen it or has highlighted it. I am not sure why.

I will make it clear. I am not against any race. But if we must help someone, help someone properly. What is happening today is like:

An old man rides a bicycle along a kampung road. Accident strikes. A large tree branch fell on him and his bicycle. The old man is pinned. His leg is trapped, but otherwise completely unharmed. Shaken perhaps. He yells for help. Then comes along the Government to rescue him. Yes, the kampung folks are happy to see the old man being rescued. The Government takes a look at the old man, and swiftly takes out a parang.

The old man yelled, "No No No". Huh? Doesn't he want to be rescued? Alas, the Government wanted to hack of his leg, instead of the tree branch. The Government is unhappy, " You called for help, and I am here to help you. You are being ungrateful."

This is the scenerio we are all stuck in. Most of us do not even know when the government is here to amputate our arms and legs. Sure, the old man will be freed. But it is a very stupid way of doing it right? And why handicap him for the rest of his life? So, read on my series on The Naked NEP.

Situation Normal?

Well, well, a quick update. I have been out on my own for 6 months. Not much income. One big project for Nible2 has stopped dead in its tracks. Nible2 ran out of money. More so, Nible2 started firing some staff, so the rest of the rats have jumped ship. Situation is bad. No money in Nible2, no manpower either.

Yours truly is stuck here. Without income. Did rent out two rooms in my house, but that's hardly enough to cover expenditure. Times are hard. Must find more ways to get income. Anyone interested in a toyboy? Hahaha.

Bad Habit: Mind your own Business

I have seen this in Nible2. There was a financial crunch. Suddenly, every manager, every clown acts like the Finance Director. How so? They stop hiring, sighting the lack of money. They stop buying equipment.

Hello? Why on earth should the R&D Manager do the work of the Finance Controller? The work of the R&D Manager is to see if the purchase is necessary. Then, find out what's best to buy for the company. Compare products. Ensure the products work. Work out the utilization if purchased. Work out alternatives if the company cannot purchase - rent it, or the simple beg, borrow or steal. Try to avoid the last option. What are the justifications for purchase? Return of investments? And what happens if the purchase is not made. In any case, all these must be done regardless of the financial situation of the company.

Then, you get a fucked up Finance Manager doing the work of the R&D Manager. The Finance Manager would ask why is the equipment needed. Are you sure you need it? I mean, fuck it. Unless the R&D Manager is buying dildos for his staff, or anal plugs, please do not ask such moronic questions. If the R&D Manager hasn't done his job, tell him to do his part - as stated above. Don't try to do his work.

I have seen endless chaos. HR trying to figure out how many staff should be in production and how to use staff better. Hello. You have your production manager. If he or she is doing a bad job, fire him / her. Then, get a new Production Manager. Don' try to act smart. You are in HR for a reason.

HR Managers and Finance must remember their roll. Their roll is a supporting roll. If someone needs staff, their job is to find the best staff. If the company needs financing, the job is to get the money. R&D too. Their bloody job is to do R&D. Don't bloody ask - is the product necessary? If you are given your task, just do it.

So, who exactly decides what to design or manufacture for the company? It should be Marketing. Marketing must do it's research on customers. See what customers want. Then, they will do a proposal, including investment required and returns. This should be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, Marketing must brief all, including Finance and HR on what the new product is all about. Sell them the idea. Then, all departments must strive to deliver - not poke holes at the proposal. If you want to poke holes, do it before the damn thing is approved. The approval process should cater for feedback.

This is the only way forward. Not try to tear things apart. Imagine - every department trying to tear each other apart. They act in their own best interest. They don't want to do the extra mile. Look around you - this is all too close to home.

Bad Habit: Team Work

Teamwork itself is not a bad habit. But really, try asking yourself. What is teamwork?

Most people would say - when you are in a team, you must do your part. Hmmm. I say, bullshit. That's not teamwork. That's a damn selfish definition of teamwork. Teamwork really means that working in a team, when your teammates slack or is unable or unwilling to perform, you take up the slack. In other words, you do more.

No bloody use in pointing out who is doing less. Or complaining that it's not fair you have to do more. News flash. Life isn't fair. I am unsure if death is. So, get use to the idea that life is not fair.

I now have my own company. I enjoy working with my business partners. We all contribute in different ways. Sometimes, they cannot attend meetings - I will attend those. I won't mind when they cannot attend the meetings. Sometimes, I am not able to attend the meetings. That's OK too. If we truly work as a team, we fill in the blanks for each other. Not bloody shoot at each other.

At times, managers are also to blame. Even CEOs are to blame. When someone tries to do more, they say - just do your job. That's someone else's problem. In a team, there is no such thing as someone else's problem. It is everyone's problem. But it may not be your business. For example, if I had argue with my girlfriend last night, I would be in poor spirits today and one way or another, if will affect my performance. That will affect the whole team. But it is none of their business what the argument was about. So, if you can help me out that much on a bad day, do it.

The key is really - to recognize the problem and to realize what is our business or is it someone else's issue. If it is a financial issue, realize it. That would be beyond your job scope, but see how you can work as a team to help out. An informal discussion over lunch with Finance would be a start. But please don't start by sending bloody emails.

So, how exactly do you define teamwork? Do you help others when you complete your task? Or stand there and laugh at others suffer when you are free? Always remember - it is better to be in the position to help than to ask for help. So, help when you can.

Bad Habits: What managers should do

A lot fail to understand the role of a manager. Everyone wants to be a manager, but really - what is the job scope of a manager? A manager is to manage. That's clear. But how to manage? What do you start to do to manage?

I have seen so many teams fall apart. Some fast. Some suffer a slow death. Why to teams or sections fall apart? Why do companies fail to meet their goal? How can managers help? The answer is real simple. Managers must start with giving a clear direction. Clear directors to everyone is dead important. I have some statistics to prove it.

Let's say there are 10 persons in the team. Most team have about that many person. If everyone has a 90% correct understanding of the team's goal, the team is almost doomed. Why? Statistically, the chances of reaching the goal is only about 35%. That's 0.9 to the power of 10. Mind you, 90% understanding isn't bad for an individual, but as a team, that's real bad.

If you have a team of 5 with each individual's understanding of the goal 80% correct, the chances of success are 32%. However, if there are 5 members with an 90% correct understanding of goals, the chances of success would now be about 60%.

This clearly shows that small groups are easier to manage. More importantly, the manager's roll is really to make damn sure everyone has at least a 99% percent of correct understanding of the goals and objective of the team. Once the understanding is clear, things will move along better. Not trouble free, but at least the chances are better.

So, what's the success factor of your team?

Bad Habit: Who's Interest?

Most companies do not do well for one key reason. Employees fail to act in the best interest of the company. Seriously, what's your thinking process before doing something for your company? I have seen this happening all the time.

Shareholders fight and try to kill each other. Sometimes, it results in hostile takeovers. CEOs and MDs want to make a decision that will make them popular, famous or rich. Senior managers worry about their little empires. They want more staff, more budget in their domain. Engineers want a pay raise. Corrupt purchasing officers worry what's in it for themselves.

We all have to take care of ourselves, but please make decisions that are in the best interest of the company. Otherwise, companies are doomed to fail. Many have failed in the world. Investment bankers trying to look good to their bosses. Bosses who worry about their multi-million dollar profit.

If this is how things work, be prepared for the doom of the company. Don't be too surprise if the doors are closed one working - just like the now historical Lehman Brothers.

Just Do It... at the right time

A horrible habit is to point out problems without given a solution. Occasionally, you can point out problems without a solution, but do so in a solution orientated manner. In other words, seek to solve the problem. I had staff who pointed out endless problems. I mean, there really is limited value to pointed out problems. I am no idiot. Your boss is no idiot (usually the case). (Also, never assume the another party is an idiot). So, why point out the problem? Surely he must know it too.

The real value comes in solving the problem. However, there is a catch. It must be at the right time.

A Ipoh lenglui complained that her boss didn't value her suggestions. It was obvious - her suggestions were sound, good for the company, but yet - her boss was annoyed with her. I gave her an example and she understood her situation well.

It's like repairing roads or doing road works - say resurfacing. Surely, repairing a road to get rid of potholes would be good. However, imagine if you choose to carry out the repair works on a Monday morning when school re-opens for the new year. That's real shit isn't it? Or closing one lane along the North South Highway during the Chinese New Year 'balik kampung' rush. Everyone would be swearing and cursing. "Why do it now? Why not later?"

So, timing is important. In schools, there is always a right or wrong answer. The right answer is simple anyway. There is no situational analysis. In real life, we must analyse the situation. Great ideas in the wrong situation is worse than a bad idea.

My Story

I cannot even remember if I have blogged this before. When I start off in Nible2, I was with Research and Development. I completed my first project real fast, ahead of time. Without another task, I was given the CIF2 task. CIF2 is a very new technology. No one else in the world has it. It was ground breaking. The flip side of CIF2 is, it has loads of problems. Of 750 units manufactured, 500 ended up as rejects. Being the world's first, there wasn't anyone to ask for guidance.

My task sounded simple enough. Find out what is wrong with the 500 dead printed circuit boards and make them work. I had a technician who could not care less. He was either smoking outdoors or smoking in the toilet. My first recommendation would be to sack him. On day 1, I didn't even have the bloody schematics. Took me a few phone calls and a visit to a sister company to obtain the schematics. Good thing I met up with him - he help me a lot and remains my friend till today. Like I've said, a face to face meeting helps heaps.

Now I had the schematic, there was no documentation to it. So, I had to reverse engineer the whole darn thing. This was not easy. Very hard work. A number of more senior engineers have attempted this task to no avail. Mind you, these engineers were involved with PDA design - sophisticated stuff back in 2003. They had a file that was 3 inches thick - lots of experiments with no results.

I figured that the engineers must be right. No point in repeating what they have done. Instead, I looked for other root causes. As for the technician, I did show him the importance of learning. He learned and became an expert in the CIF project. After 6 months, I enjoyed working with him and we are still friends. To think about it, I nearly had the poor bugger sacked.

To cut a long story short - I found the root causes. It was bad design, no documentation and horrible manufacturing processes. I did not complain or stopped there. I also fixed the darn problems.

It was a difficult problem. I could have given up easily, but I did not. I did something that the senior engineers didn't do - make a phone call to the sister company. The sister company managed the external design contractor. The contractor was bust in 2001. Couldn't talk to them directly.

The senior engineers before me saw it as a nuisance. They wanted to concentrate on PDA. They looked into it for a while and gave up to go back into their PDA projects. I took it as a challenge. Basically, I played the hand that was dealt to me. Wasn't a good hand, but you just have to play it.

Solving the CIF2 problem made me sort of an expert of some sort. I went on to develop the next generation of CIF readers - ended up with the best design in the world. In an international meet, our design beat the Germans, Japanese, US, EU and many other countries. I do not claim all the credit, as I was the team leader for a whole bunch of engineers. It was a nightmare trying to get the engineers to do something right.

By then, everyone wanted the CIF project. It was glamorous. I traveled worldwide - spending more time overseas than in the office. This is a fact. For every month, I will be away for at least 2 weeks. Visited more than 12 countries. CIF project was the priority of the company. Now, everyone wanted the project. But guess what? They still could not do it.

After leaving Nible2 for 2 years now, I am still a consultant to Nible2 for the CIF project. Now, I get to charge them more than RM10,000 per month, plus lots of profit. There is a reward from hard work - but I only get it when I started my own business. The Nible2 engineers still couldn't get things right - not because I am smarter, but it's because of the bad habits that they have.

Bad Habit: Being Wally

Most people end up with the "I Do Not Care" attitude, just like Wally. I was Wally once too. Still am Wally in many ways, but that's because I prefer to work smart rather than work hard.

The I Do Not Care attitude is very bad on us. I have seen many colleagues ending up in the I Do Not Care dead end. First, they will start off real enthusiastically. Then, HR or some idiots make demoralizing policies. It sorts of kill the Dilbert in people and make them Wally. But the real killer is unrealistic expectations.

Most people expect to be well rewarded when they work hard. That's logical. But do be careful with when or where you expect the reward. If you expect a pay raise or a big bonus - that would be trouble. I have seen so many, suffering when they get only a month's bonus. Or a mere 5% raise.

From the management's point of view, that could have been very generous. Or it would be difficult to pay more. Or they are just being greedy bastards who want to keep the money for themselves.

This is when we must know what to expect. No one has ever gotten rich from working in a cubicle. That's a fact. You work for others, others get rich. But it is kind of fair - they have to pay wages regardless of economic situation or sales. Not easy to be a boss either. I won't say who's right or who's wrong, but remember this - we must be realistic.

As such, it is best to adopt the attitude to be there to learn. If you get more pay - good. If pay remains the same - still work. At the end of the day, it is our time that we are wasting being Mr. I Don't Care. Put in your best. Learn hard. Get the experience. Experience and knowledge will be with you forever. No one can take that away.

When we work for someone, do it for the experience. If you want to be real rich, go start your own business. Be it online or a fried rice stall, at least what you do will be yours. Do NOT expect your boss to make you rich.

If it gets so bad, walk out. Leave. Resign. Don't bloody sit there and do nothing. Again, it is your time - and your time is precious. You will never be 25 again, or 31, or whatever your age is. But the world will keep up moving.

Bad Habit: "Short Cuts"

When I was with Nible2, there were two major incidences which reminded me not to pick up this bad habit. We were having a collaboration to jointly develop a product with a company in USA. This was at least 4 years ago. One day, someone remarked that her email to USA were never answered. So, the matter was handed over to another manager. No reply either. The US engineers just ignored the email.

I wasn't the most popular guy back in Nible2, but eventually the problem ended up with me. I wrote to them, and I got a reply immediately. Strange. For doing a good job, I was rewarded with more work. For all future contact, I had to write to them. I suspected it had something to do with the way I wrote, but never thought too much about it.

Then came the second incident. I was in US and it was good to meet someone in person. The first thing that guy said to me is "Do your colleagues speak English?". He went on to complain about the lengthy emails that he could not understand. Alas, he binned it. He also said the email didn't look important - it was full of shorthand ala SMS-English.

To think about it, it is true. Why waste time to respond to something that looks like it is written by a Year 6 kid? This shows a lack of respect and worse still - makes the email look trivial. On top of that, don't assume everyone can understand the same SMS English.

It was an embarrassment for me to have such complains. Moral of the story - write properly. One subject, one predicate per sentence. Keep it simple. Follow grammatical rules. There is a spell check function in most software nowadays. Bad English simply isn't going to make the cut.

I Just Called....

Bad Habit 3: I just Called to Say I Love You

Maybe some of us are too young to remember the song " I Just Called to Say I Love You." by Stevie Wonder. It is an all time favorite. If one listens to the song carefully, Stevie didn't say fax, SMS, email or write a letter. Instead, it is Call to say I love you.

In this technological soup, people are getting more and more robotic. If there is a problem or there is something to be said, pick up the phone and make the call. You can follow up with an email or fax, but call! Many times, people like to send email to-and-fro. Come on. Take a hint. If two emails doesn't resolve it, pick up the damn phone and make a call.

Better still, go and meet the person. There is only so much calls can do.

I know that there are bean counters and the evil HR who will limit cost of calls, let alone a face to face visit. But you will be amazed at how fast and in the long term, how much it will save to resolve issues fast. I can understand how slowly this bad habit creeps in. So many times, we are asked to put it in formal writing when there is a suggestion or a request. That's fine and good. But we should remember to call or to meet up when things are no longer moving.

Yesterday, I was suppose to have dinner with a certain lenglui. A number of SMS were exchanged as to where we should have dinner. I tried to call her, but she didn't pick up. (Case of a NR). Instead, she continued to SMS. Screw it. SMS takes too much time. Not worth the savings. I ended up at home with a good book to read.

Remember, pick up the phone and make that call. If so necessary, meet up!

Bad Habit 2 : Broken Promises

Here's another bad habit in Nible2 - which is still on going and irritates everyone. There is a project which I am a contractor for Nible2. But alas, the stupid project has been delayed for more than 6 months. That's very normal for a project, but the broken promises are not acceptable. They promise to send the latest drawings over by "Wednesday", when nothing happens, it would be "next week". It has been 5 months now.

Delays are normal. But please do not do a NR and let the other party wait in vain. This is very unprofessional. In this case, it is so bad that my two colleagues no longer want to deal with Nible2. Nible2 doesn't know that yet. I will have to break the news to them when their minds are back on the project.

Always keep to your promise. As they say, under promise and over deliver. Don't do it the other way around. If there is a crisis or a delay, call the person adversely affected. Most of us are kind hearted souls, so we will understand. Don't even up in a situation where no one professional would want to deal with you.

Bad Habit : No response

Working in Nible2 has caused me to pick up some nasty habits. I have left Nible2 for almost 2 years now. I was fortunate enough to have someone point out some of the nasty habits I have picked up. Sadly, some of my good friends in Nible2 are still stuck with those nasty habits. I intend to write about these habits and hope it is useful to someone out there. Mind you, these habits are rampant - not just in Nible2.

So, the first habit I will write about is No Response, or known as NR. NR is a classification of dead chips when they do not respond to the test signals or respond with a power up sequence.

A lot of people has this NR habit. They do not acknowledge emails. No response to SMS. When they say they will call back, they don't. They do not pick up calls. Basically, NR.

This is very bad etiquette. If you are busy, just say "I got your email. I will read it in detail later as I am busy." That would be fine. Or reply to an SMS. It does not take a lot of time to reply. Come on - it would take 30 seconds at most. And yet, these are the people who will go home on time or spend hours for their lunch. I am OK with that, but please reply to messages.

A lack of response shows an indifference attitude. If you pick up these bad habits, you mind end up doing it to your loved ones. Bad habits usually will not have limits. They will extend to all concerns. And this is when it will seriously screw up one's life. In the competitive world, it is a huge difference between no response and a response. Most people out there are talking about the right response, and yet we have idiots who have NR.

More stupid comments

When they want to attack the opposition, they are willing to be idiots. Here's an example from The Star.

One clown is protesting that 20 cents per plastic bag. Root cause is, people forget to bring their own plastic bags. Instead, he wants to burn down the mosquito netting just to get rid of the mozzies.

Why are there such clowns out there? He should be reminding people to bring their own plastic bags - instead of giving out more free bags. And for some reasons, it is fine to chop down all the forest for us to carry stuff in a bag for 5 mins and dump it. What a douche bag.

Rethink charging 20 sen for plastic bag, Selangor told

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor state government has been urged to review its 20 sen charge for the use of plastic bags for its no plastic day campaign.

Fomca advisor Prof Datuk Hamdan Adnan said the move was only profiting the retailers and supermarkets.

He said if Selangor really wanted to make the programme a success, they should find better alternatives.

"We support the no plastic day campaign on Saturday. But the retailers are taking advantage of the campaign to sell the plastic bags and getting profit for it.

"We feel such a move has somewhat affected the campaign itself. If one plastic bag costs 20 sen, how much will a retailer make if 5,000 people have to buy these in a single day?" he said.

The campaign was initiated by Selangor on Jan 9 to reduce the usage of plastic bags, following similar measures in Penang.

Mohd Hamdan said it was better for retailers to convert its use of plastic bag to that made of biodegradable materials such as wood or rattan.

He said consumers should also cultivate the habit of taking their own bags when shopping. - BERNAMA

Hide them

When you think someone is coming after your kids, start hiding them. This can be a divorce case, which usually leads to a custody battle. This is only useful when the lawyers are hopeless or someone plays dirty. The 'someone' could be a corrupt judge, overzealous religious officers, criminals or thugs. I would say, stick to the court orders - but that's kind of difficult. So, take these steps before a court order has been issued on the custody of the child. In short - if you want to hide your kids even if the court orders you to surrender them to the other party - do it at your own risk. This article is also useful to make kidnapping more difficult.

Rule 1: Don't bother to pay lawyers too much to fight your case. Some of them are just blood suckers that will clean you and your ex-partner up. You might get a million bucks from your ex husband, but the lawyer's bill will be 1.2 million. You get the picture.

Rule 2: Time to wise up. Cholp Chop. Get moving!

The rest is just what to do for Rule 2. As a start, please remove all pictures of your kids from the internet - be it facebook or whatever. The latest trend is to post pictures of kids online. Damn stupid move. My parents didn't even allow strangers to take our photos. Why? With a photo, it makes kidnapping a hell a lot easier. It is damn difficult to kidnap a specific target when you do not have a clue how the person looks like. So, please remove all the photos, including those taken by friend and relatives that are posted online.

Next, take the latest photos. Photograph your kids - front and side view. Note their height, weight and birth-marks. These are for the 'recovery' team, in case they are kidnapped. At least if you want the police to look for them, you can show the police their' latest photos. You can use a private dick...that's private detective. But you will need photos. Keep two copies. One with you. One with your friend.

Have a secret friend. Choose a good friend that you can TRUST and is RELIABLE. This friend will be your 'check fail' alert. Tell this friend what is happening. Give this friend your emergency contact numbers, next of kin, your photos, your "mark's"photo, details of your "mark", photos of your kids and other pertinent information. This friend will be your escrow. You can choose more than one check-fail friend. No one must know who this check-fail friend is. No one must suspect or easily guess who this person is. The reason is unveiled in the next paragraph.

How the check fail will work is - your friend must receive a call or an SMS from you periodically. It can be on a daily basis. If he or she does not hear from you, this person will take a list of pre-planned action - like going to the police, inform your next-of-kin. Or if the check-fail friend knows you have been harmed, immediately make public of the "mark"'s secrets. When someone else knows the mark's secret, the mark will think twice before doing something stupid to you. Do NOT store the real name of your check fail friend on your phone. Give your check fail friend a new phone. Your check fail friend cannot be revealed easily. So, have the phone registered in your name, but held by your friend. Put in a dummy name in the phone's address book.

Who is the "mark"? The "mark" would be the bad guy. Don't ask me why I chose that term. Someone else must know the "mark" and all of the "mark's" dirtiest secrets.

Also, set up a duress system. If you use a phrase like " I want to screw tonite " or "HI, it's Janice here" - when you have informed your check-fail that if you use the name "Janice", it means you are in duress. You are forced to call your check fail. Again, have a prepared list of action. Like going to the police, or taking the kids away.

Now, go apply for passports for the kids. When you have the passports, the mark cannot apply for another set of passports easily. Immigration would give the mark a hard time. Even if the mark reports them missing, there is a long waiting period and even more restrictions. So, ensure that your kids have passports. You will need their birth certificates.

Assuming that the passports are done, you need to secure them. Put the passports in a secure location - perhaps a bank or with your mark. A bank is very secure. But if you need to take the kids out of the country fast, you might have to wait till the bank re-opens - especially on a weekend. So, the best is to keep it secured with your check-fail friend. It must be locked. Best is to have them in a fire resistant safe. The safe must be concealed - don't let anyone know you have a safe. Use a safe that is key operated. Forget the combination lock. It will be shit to open when you panic.

Now, keep a copy of your kids' photos and important information with the passports / check-fail friend. By now, you should know why this is required.

Also, make sure that your kids' birth certificates are kept in a bank. You won't need them urgently. Birth certificates are the kids' ID. If you have them, you have better 'possession' of your kids. Lock it up in a bank's safe custody box. Why? If the mark catches you, the mark cannot put you at gun-point or knife-point to handover the documents. That's difficult. You need to walk into the bank. Make sure your check-fail friend knows which bank and best if your friend can have access to the box. Banks allow two signatories. A good bank would be OUB in PJ. Use a bank that you do NOT normally go to. The mark must not suspect where the bank it. It makes it more difficult for him. Else, he can bloody bribe the bank manager and you are screwed.

And please don't give me the bullshit that the bank is far away, and you prefer something in your neighborhood. Remember. The mark is your husband or wife / ex. The mark has been very intimate with you. Fucked you, got two kids with you. The mark knows you. You have to now change the way you behave and your habits. Remember this at all times.

Change all the locks in your house. Change your car keys. Install an alarm system. If you already have one, change the PIN numbers of your alarm system. Change the autogate's PIN / code-decode number. Changing locks are expensive, and the rest is pretty much free. Use better locks, such as Yale. Please don't use Sonnex or some unknown locks. Locks by ASSA ABLOY are pretty good. Yale is one of them. Use those. Ensure that your check-fail friend has access to your house - in the event of an emergency. If you can, chance your car. Have another mobile number. Use the new mobile number. However, do NOT terminate the old number - else the mark will be suspicious. Keep your mark comfy. And please do not rely on your dog to keep you safe - especially when your dog knows your mark well. Keep a new dog if you have to.

Set up a new bank account - one that is in you name only at a bank you do not normally use. If the court orders your accounts to be frozen, at least you have something stashed away. Get one or two new credit cards. Better still, have an overseas bank account. It is damn easy to start an account in Singapore. Stash some money there. Have an account with a Visa or Master Debit Card. You will be able to access your funds worldwide. Set up the account with internet access. Also, ask the bank to provide you with the SWIFT Code. You need the code to transfer money / wire money into the account. It would take time before a Malaysian Court order is enforced in Singapore. By the way, if you are really planning to leave Malaysia for good, you can max out your Malaysian credit cards when you are away and forget about them. But that's only if you want to be away for long term.

The kids. Make sure you brief them that they are only to see you. If I were you, move them to a new school immediately. Do NOT let they stay with your parents. It is fucking convenient and free to have your parents as baby sitters, but your mark knows how to get to them. So, screw that idea. Move them to another district - if you are in PJ, consider Cheras. Better if it is a place your mark is not familiar with. If your mark has gang connections, the gangs won't be able to work well out of their territory. That's why is so damn important to chose somewhere your mark is not familiar with.

Babysitters or a proper tadika is a good choice to keep your kids. Why? They issue receipts. Receipts are useful in courts. When the courts hear your case 3 years later, you can bloody prove that you have been taking care of your kids. Your mark didn't contribute anything. You cannot prove that easily if your parents were babysitting them - or worse still, when your parents are no longer around to give evidence. That's a bad situation to be in. Sure, it can cost more, but there are always cheaper play-schools or babysitters out there. Keep the receipts.

Australia and Thailand are a good choice for running away. Why? Malaysian Court orders are not recognized in those countries. I may be wrong, but I think there is no extradition treaty with Thailand and Australia. So, be prepared to go to those countries. Singapore is a good transit point. You don't need a visa to get there. It is a safe country. Hide somewhere.

The worst case scenario would be to skip the country. Be prepared to do this. I am no expert here, but you can start thinking. Pack up your documents and be prepared to be on-the-go. Or at least store them somewhere - in a bank - and your friend can collect and send them to you. Identify highways and escape routes. Know who to call in case of emergency. Do note - you only have to skip the country until your kids are 18 (or 21). By then, they are adults and they are free!

Some tips on how to slow down your mark, in case of emergency. For example - when you know your mark is about to make a serious move - do some nasty stuff on him or her. If you have a joint bank account, empty it. Report cheques have been misplaced. Cancel his credit cards - or help him report them stolen. This is only possible if you know the card details. Cancel his phone line, or report SIM card has been stolen. Stuff like this. Make it difficult, but try not to break any laws.

Always remember to love your kids. They are victims too. Don't take it out on them. If you cannot manage, call some NGO, or write to me. I am unsure if I can help, but I would listen.

Custody battles are always ugly - usually made worse by overzealous "religious" officers. On top of that, justice is cheap in Malaysia. That's sad and that's why I am posting this entry.

When Justice is For Sale - at a discount!

H got a call recently. It was a weird situation. Her female friend, married with two kids - was asked to signed some divorce papers by the husband. This couple has marital issues for some time. Allegedly, the husband now wants to marry a Muslim lady. Thus, the man now has to convert to be a Muslim. Naturally, his father disowned him. Father is rich - and this is the important point of the whole story. The man is a lazy bum, allegedly. The father loves the two kids (the grandchildren).

The weird part now begins. The lady (H's friend), wants to know a good lawyer who can help her. News has it, her husband wants the two kids. The lady reckons that in Boleh Land, the Muslims will take her kids away and she will not be heard fairly in court. In the mean time, life goes on as usual for her.

Why strange? Try giving a dog a piece of bone. What will it do? It will take the bone, go somewhere and eat it. Especially when another dog is around. It will hide and eat the bone. What I am trying to say is, if you know someone wants to take the kids away, why the fuck would life be as usual? She has to be dumb and think that lawyers can solve everything. That's true - if you have VK Lingam.

But I am sure a great guy like VK Lingam won't be cheap. She won't even be able to afford a decent lawyer. Some lawyers quoted her RM 5000 and she doesn't want to pay up. Don't blame her. They are no VK Lingam.

Back to the story - she is still trying to find a lawyer. Kids are with her mother.

Let me get this right. This has nothing to do with Islamic law. It is the way law (be it Islamic or Civil) that is implemented in this country that is damn shit worrying. I mean, look - a learned Tun Eusoff Chin ruled that selling stolen property is legal. What the fuck? The stolen land still belongs to the wrongful owner till date. Screwed up right? So, imagine how it is like when they implement their version of Islamic law?

Honestly, I would be damn comfortable if Nik Aziz implemented Islamic law. At least I know he is fair and he is honest. It's just like sports. We don't mind if it is soccer or female volley ball - just ensure that the rules are fair. Under BN - nothing is fair. VK Lingam is not charged. The judiciary was for sale - mind you - for only trips to New Zealand and handphones. Shit. That's kind of a drop off. It's too cheap.

So, I have given H's friend my two cents worth. Screw the legal system - be it the Syariah Court or the Civil Courts. I don't know much about the Syariah Courts, but it doesn't look too good in the same light as the Civil Courts. More on that in another posting - and more on what I told H's friend

Wakey wakey...

This is what someone wrote to the Editor at The Star

Overseas newspaper paints bad image of Malaysia

LAST week, I was in Bangalore, India and stayed at the Ista Hotel. The newspaper provided is DNA (Daily News & Analysis).

On its Feb 22 edition, the newspaper provided damaging information about Malaysia under “yourworld” which gives a brief description of countries around the world daily.

DNA provided a brief description of our history, population, economic activities etc.

However, there was a paragraph that described Malaysia as a destination and transit point for the trafficking of women and children for sexual purposes.

The newspaper quoted that the information is from the CIA Factbook.

What have Wisma Putra and our embassy in India and US doing to correct this wrong information?

TAN CHEE WAN,

Subang Jaya.

Here's my reply:

Mr. Tan - bad news - it is time for your to wake up. And for the politicians to stop keeping the public in the dark. Unfortunately, the CIA Handbook and the DNA got it right. Yes, Malaysia is a transit point for drugs and human trafficking. Period.

Why do you think Dr. M has asked for the world's first electronics passport. Malaysia is the first to use a chip in a passport. That's because the problem of forged and tampered passport is rampant. Not through our own doing, but almost anyone can pass off as a Malaysian because we are multi-racial. To top it up, Malaysians are allowed entry into EU and UK without visa. So, the bad guys love our passport for human and drug smuggling. Don't believe me? Try selling your Malaysian passport in the black market. It will fetch RM5000, at least. Mind you, that's bloody illegal.

All the 'boat' people to Australia do stop by Malaysia. They land at KLIA, then take a boat (illegal) to Indonesia. It is time we tighten our borders, not "tutup satu mata" (close an eye). It is a shock and a very rude awakening, but what DNA India has publish, unfortunately is true.

Quad Action

It could have been a quad core processor by Intel, but alas, it is still multi tasking. H and I has gotten to like this Quad Action. Here's how it goes. H lies flat on the bed on her sexy tummy. Keeping her lights together, I fuck her from the back. No, not anally, but just a hard dick into a pussy. I almost lie flat on her too. My dick is at a weird angle, but it gives her more satisfaction. Apparently, it rubs hard against her G spot.

I would then put another hand under her. Fingers on her clit. I ensure my fingers are wet. So, as I fuck her, I massage her clit. For my other hand, I rest my weight on the elbow. But I bend my arm just nicely so it gives her boob a massage. And maybe pinch her nipple. Hehehe. Up to this part, it is Triple Action.

The last action is harder to achieve. She twists her head a little, and we French Kiss. All these while I am fucking her, fingering her clit and massaging her boob. If I cannot kiss her, I would stick my touch into her ear and gently kiss it.

It drives her really wild. All hot and wet. Not a bad thing to try if you wanna "over" simulate your gf....hehehe. Will do more with H. That's for sure.

Fucking Busy

It was more of a case of busy fucking. H was with me last nite. We started our sessiona d t 11pm and finished only at about 1.30am. Did H in many positions, including masturbating her. She must have 'cummed' about 5 times. At least. She was in this sexy little undies. Gosh. That could turn a gay guy straight. As usual, we fucked again when we got up. She started by giving me a blowjob. Then, she got wet herself. So, we fucked for about 45 mins. She was real loud. And her pussy was very tight this morning. Last night, she was soaking wet.

In any case, no more fucking tonight. We will rest. More updates later.

I woke up this morning...

Typically, I would wake up with a hard-on. But since my session with H yesterday, my 'didi' (little brother) is still happily awake. The problem lies on a upper part of my torso. What to eat for breakfast?

That's a damn difficult question. I have been craving for some good dim sum. Foh San in Ipoh is too far. In PJ, there's Ah Yat - but they don't start too early and it is a bit far too. And H would still be asleep till late. When it comes to that, most of my lazy bugger friends are still in bed.

Another option would be beef noodles in Seremban. I miss that too. There's a branch in Seremban market - actually, that's the original stall. Haven't had that for some time. There are two more branches - King's (in old Seremban town) and Quinn's (Kemayan Square). I prefer the one in the market.
No good Indian food in Subang Jaya either. No matter how good, I miss Ramasamy from Seremban - when it was 20 years ago. That was good Indian food. Alas, even Ramasamy today is not as good as it was 20 years ago.

Chow kuey teow, chee cheong fun - the better ones are in Penang or Ipoh. Sadly, those here are usually done by a bunch of Bangla workers. How can those be any good?

Even my pan mee this morning was done by a bunch from Mynmar. Not good! Sigh. I guess I have to start cooking again. Or maybe hire an Indon maid to cook for me. Hahaha.

Go baby, go

After months of trial and error, and lots of manual data logging, I have come to the following conclusion about my car's fuel consumption. It can get up to 16.5km/l. It can be as bad as 12.5km/l.

Here's a summary of my findings:
  1. Automax does work. At worst, it will improve efficiency from 11.5km/l to about 12.5-13.5km/l. 13.5km/l is typical for jams in KL.
  2. Driving on highways yields better mileage, butt here's a catch. Driving at 100km/h is the best. It can give me up to 17.5km/l. That's the best I've recorded. Typically, it would be about 15.5km/l.
  3. Driving at 130km/l reduces efficiency to about 14.0km/l. That's a big difference.
  4. Following a large vehicle - say a big bus - at 100km/l saves petrol too. But to keep a safe distance and understand the risk involve.
  5. Shell Fully Synthetic oil gives a smooth ride, but it is expensive. I have noticed that they are good for about 9oookm per oil change.
  6. As such, I have tried a TOTAL 3litre for Kancil. It has a SAE of 5W. This is good. About the same as Shell Fully Synthetic, needs to be changed at 5000km and a lot cheaper. 3L is more than enough (about the minimum mark) for my Proton car. This also eliminates the need to store excess engine oil.
  7. The air filter plays a major role in fuel consumption. I use a filter that cost about RM 12. It must be change every 6000 to 7000 km. That's all it is good for. More than that, consumption goes up. Cleaning a used filter with compress air doesn't do the job. After all, why not spend RM 12, and get about 10% more from a tank full. If a tank full is RM 60, two tank fulls, we have recovered cost (ROI). After that, it is sheer savings.
  8. Spark plugs. I am back to NGK plugs. They last a bit longer of about 20000 km. Notice I have to change them often - else, consumption goes up.
  9. As for fuel, I favour Caltex, BHP and Shell - in that order. RON 95 is good enough. I use RON 97 or Shell VPower occasionally to clean my engine. RON 97 burns hotter than RON 95 (according to my US friend), so that helps get rid of carbon in the engine.

In conclusion, the best efficiency is when my engine oil is new (say Total SAE 5W), new air filter, new spark plugs, Automax at 1ml per 20L of fuel using Caltex Tetron 95, driving down a highway behind a bus at 100km/l. I drive twice a month to JB from KL - so, I do get enough of reliable data.

Cash rewards for the police?

Our friend Hisham has suggested that police stations that perform well should be rewarded with cash. What a retard. Why on earth should we give out more money for people to work? He should fucking sack those who cannot perform. Those who can perform, give them a promotion. End of story. How on earth can he have a jackpot system to reward police stations? What if they all work hard? Double everyone's salary? And will the reward be more than the bribes police can collect?

Our politicians are really out of ideas. Only stupid ideas from them. And Najib has nothing to say at all about all these. Fuckers. Will someone now send me a cheque for following the speed limit?

Shaved Balls

Was doing some work at my home office today and decided that my privates needed a haircut. Badly. I could shave the hair of my balls - it's nice and smooth now. Sadly, I can only trim my pubic hair. Shaving causes many in-grown hair and that's extremely painful. In addition, it looks terrible too - spotted with puss and looks like I've a serious case of VD.

I won't recommend shaving for everyone, but I think we should know how to keep our privates tidy. Tonnes of people spend heaps of money on hair, make-up etc, but still with a ice-age private. I have been thinking for some time - why not start a business that caters for the privates?

P1 Potong or P1 Sotong

I am now using P1 for my new house. At times, the darn thing works very well. At other times, it sucks. It is not very fast, but better than Maxis or Celcom. Yet to try DiGi here (Kota Kemuning). Using P1's test tools, I can get a good reading. I do notice that changing the DNS server to OpenDNS helps (especially with Streamyx).

For all DNS server changes, the settings must be made at the modem (DSL or P1) for it to be effective. I have noted that changes on the PC (Windows Vista / 7) is kind of useless.

Back to P1. What's the verdict? I will keep it for now. I am unsure if I would want it in the long term. It isn't that much cheaper. It isn't any faster than Streamyx. The only good thing is, my Streamyx service is heck a lot better in USJ since P1 has been launched. TM has fibre optics to the area now. I wonder what took those buggers so long.

In short, regardless is P1 Wimax useful or not, it sure has Streamyx / TM pulling up their socks. Competition is always good.
