Pregnant

Oh well, it is the age old problem back to me again, pregnancy. Hmmm. All of you could be wondering... is the author of this blog pregnant? Hell no, I am a guy and I have not had any medical miracles. Oh, he got H pregnant. No, no. I didn't get anyone pregnant.
Actually, the truth is a lot less juicy. Somehow, on the internet, on Skype - I keep attracting pregnant gals. This is the second case -and no, they are just online friends - never met them. In both cases, they fell in love with a older guy. Got pregnant. They didn't want to tell their families. Instead, they are thinking of an abortion.

First case - the gal was a student in Sunway College, from Kedah. Found out she was two months pregnant. Don't think she's underage. If I remember correctly, she's more than 20 years old. Then, she wanted to run away from home. Gosh. Took me damn a lot of time to convince her not to. In the end, she told her parents and she had an abortion. She's from a fairly well to do family - so, money wasn't another problem for her.

Second case - also a uni student in Kampar. Bf in KL knocked her up. Rich family, so, she went for an abortion. Definately more than 18 years old.

Third case - this one, I am still 'working' on it. Runaway from home. Staying in Putrajaya with a friend. Hardly any money - she has sex for money. Already pregnant for about 5 months. Gosh. She told me a guy, about 30, became her bf and got her pregnant. Guy has since disappeared completely. By the way, she's underaged. Hell... she doesn't even know how old that guy is. Mind boggling.

Then, she ran away from home. Went to stay in various places. One of her stops was Penang Island and some bozos bullshitted her. Told her to buy some chinese pills for about RM 200 a tub. Yup - a whole tub of it. She has been taking it for the last 2 months or so and yup - you guessed it right. It didn't work. So now she's pregnant into the 5th month. No money for abortion - which is hell of a illegal. Begging me for help.

The part that puzzles me is - why the heck do I know of so many pregnant young gals online. Or perhaps that's normal - meaning there is a terrible problem of unwanted pregnancy in Malaysia and there's a lot of illegal abortion going on.

While I am neither against nor for abortion (it should be left to the couple and ultimately the gal - its her body!) - the most worrying part is... what the hell am I suppose to do? Sure, they are all just online friends, but they are / were desperate for help, telling strangers about their problems. Hoping for some help. The first thing that came to mind is, NGO. There must be some NGO to help. Google Search turned up nothing. You believe it? Nothing.

Yup. That worries me. Where on earth are these gals to show up for help? Where isn't there a NGO for them? It has to be one out there, but it certainly is not reaching out. So, if you know of a NGO for this gal to go to, do let me know. It is sure sad.

Comics page is out of place

It is a Monday morning and as usual, gravitational pull between my bed and I was particularly strong. Right now, I was looking more like a cross between a panda with two black eyes and a mashimaro typing. The only problem is, both the panda and the mashimaro are cuter than I am.

When I read today's NST, I noticed something was wrong. For a moment, I thought I was dreaming. First, an article about the swimming pool in Terengganu. The pool, newly built / refurbish, was used for the recent Malaysian Games. The swimmers were good, breaking many national records.

Alas, came today's news. An insider has revealed that the pool is actually 40cm short of the standard 50m length. Wow! That's what I call news. Checked again. Nope, it is not the comics page. Heck no, it's not April 1st. Not even in planet Mars it is 1st of April. Or did they describe the comedy series The Games? It sure did remind of the series The Games, a satirical show by the Australian Broadcasting Channel. There was a episode about the 100m track shorter than 100m.

Guess someone must have watched the show and decided to play a practical joke. Or is this just development brought to us by BN? Well, it is definitely a world's first and I am sure the pool must earn a place in the Malaysian Books of Records. The swimming pool that is a little short. Hehehe. But then again, think of the advantages. If our athletes fail to perform at the 2008 Olympic Games, maybe they can say "Did anyone measure the pool? I think it is too long!". Malaysia Boleh.

Then, on another page - was another joke by BN. An asshole named Hamidah Osman, raised the issue "If you see an Indian and a snake, kill the Indian first." She was referring to Malaysians of India origin. Not bad. She raised it in the Perak state assembly. How relevent is that question? She retracted it, but it shows it was done with bad faith. What does it prove? It shows that the Prime Minister is asleep, because he has yet to say anything about this. The DPM Najib is a ball--less creature, because he didn't discipline Hamidah either. The police are not apolitical, because if someone said anything bad about the Malays, it would be detained under ISA for inciting racial hatred.
The Finance Minister asked, why should they consult the Penang State Government when they've decided to cancel a few projects in Penang. Since BN lost Penang, the Federal Government has decided to cancel a few mega-projects, including the Penang Monorail. This is a quote from the NST "What is there to consult? These are federal projects," said Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop.

Hmm. The Minister must be badly confused. Is the rakyat in Penang exempted from paying taxes to the Federal Government? If they are paying, surely the bloody minister has to explain to their leader. No, instead, that asshole has decided to be arrogant and show it up their ass. What the fuck. Yes, time to vote BN out of the Federal Government. Or move fast to Penang. After all, maybe Penang is free from federal income tax!
So, welcome to Malaysia, currently governed by a bunch of arrogant, corrupt, ball-less racists.

At the rate things are going, I really think BN wants to hand over government to another party.

It's the weekend...

Well, it is the weekend again. Almost - in a few more hours. I am almost bored to death in the office now, with much to do, but no motivation at all to do it. Worse still, I have no plans for the weekend. H is darn busy. A couple of other gals are not free either. Heck, even a cross-dresser from AFF is busy.

It may not be a bad thing after all, coz I am low on money. Yes, I just got my paycheck, but the devils in credit cards are causing some duress. The insurance, my wisdom tooth and a few other expenditures hit me hard. Not to mention even a daily chore of getting to work costs more now.

Oh, news of the month. AC has resigned before she got confirmed. I just heard a rumour that she started off as a PA for some Director, and managed to move up the ladder. What has she done for Nible2? She did spend all the money, no visible improvements. Didn't do anything else.

Now for the joke of the day. AC's car was clamped a few days ago. Guess what's her reaction? She called the CFO to tell the CFO that her car got clamped. What the efff? I wonder what exactly did she expect the CFO to do. Casually, the CFO asked her to call the evil HR Director. Strange isn't it? Did she expect the CFO to pay for her fine?

Anyway, with AC gone, this place is sure empty. It is already non-functional. Even the rats are jumping ship. Time to get on with more "Dear Sirs..."

Education Malaysia?

Education system in Malaysia is really rotten. I don't mean the current system. I mean the system when I was in back in 1986 till 1995. What got me started rambling about this is when I was in Sri Lanka, so many of my friends told me... "Wow, India must be terrible".

Hang on, for the last 60 years or so, Sri Lanka has been a independent country. It is not part of India. Sure, it is next to India, or Tamil Naidu to be precise, but hey, where on earth did they learn their history or geography?

It says a lot about modern life style. Firstly, the education system is bad. And it is made worse by modern society (read parents). Everyone wants to score well for exams. Heck, the purpose of school is to learn, not to score. What's wrong with these people. So the end results - no clue about Sri Lanka. Engineers without a clue what a LC circuit is. Mind you, that's an electrical engineer.

In the long term, this will result in people hating their jobs and taking it out on their family. I don't often meet people who are passion with what they do. As much as I dislike the management of Nible2, I am passionate about my job. I seldom go, oh crap, back to work. It would be like "Oh crap, no job satisfaction".

It is time the younger generations do things for the right reasons, for the right purpose. I am quite certain this is not the case only in Malaysia but worldwide. What are your opinion on this?

Time Travel

I just got back from Sri Lanka, in one piece. Yes, the security situation there is somewhat bad - it is like re-living in a page of the history books of the Malayan Emergency. The place certainly look like the British has just left recently.

This is a picture of a very old steam-roller. Hmmm. I've never seen it before. Wonder if it still works.

In Malaysia, things have moved forward so much. Is Sri Lanka nice? Yes, I would say it is. Malaysia is way too developed now. Hardly any green areas left. The politicians are too busy lining their own pockets, destroying history in the name of progress. Why can't they keep buildings by the British? That's character to the place. But heck no, building code in Malaysia seems to dictate that all old buildings must be replace buy uglier new ones.

Heck no, there was no action at all in Sri Lanka. Only action were that of military. The place is rather miserable. Shops begin to close at about 5pm and by 7pm, Colombo is a deserted town.

I received a rude shock when I arrived. On the way to the hotel from the airport, I noticed the driver was driving in the middle of the road, literally. So, I asked him why. The reply a very sobering "Roadside bombs, sir". As I sank deeper into the seat, I wished I did not ask. As X Files says "You cannot handle the truth".

No longer a common sight are mobile ice-cream vendors. Maybe still one or two more in smaller towns in Malaysia, but certainly not seen in Kuala Lumpur. Reminds me when I was a kid.

The conversation over lunch on Monday nearly had me choking on my tender and juicy piece of meat. I'm not referring to a pretty gal, but to some Australian Angus beef. And the topic during lunch? "How come there were no bombs this morning". The locals were wondering why hasn't the Tamil Tigers bombed a police station or the public transport. Apparently, the bombs are usually on Mondays and Fridays. Looks like the Tamil Tigers have a better SOP than Nible2.

I prefer Indian food to Sinhalese food. Pharmaceutical drugs are cheaper in India than in Sri Lanka. In any case, I bought some Cupid 50 (equivalent of Viagra) for about RM3 per tablet - that's less than USD 1 per tablet. Oh, more on Viagra later.

I did a double-take when I first say the letter boxes there. Yup, that's GR - from the era of King George V. I have never seen those before. No ER II emblems because Sri Lanka gained independence (according to my tour guide) before Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

The Elephant Orphanage was fun. This place is between Colombo and Kandy. I did some touring on Saturday, after being informed that it was safer to be outside Colombo. Believe it or not, it was a business trip and not a holiday. But it sure sounds like a holiday.

Anyway, back to the Elephant Orphanage - there are actually only 3 or 4 orphaned elephants there. The rest of the elephants? Oh well, it could be called a resort. Interesting especially when we get to pat the elephants.

Visited another temple in Kandy - the Tooth Relic. It is said that this temple contains a tooth from Buddha. The tooth is said to be collected from the cremation pyre.

The place was very serene and yes, I did enjoy visiting the temples. Only concern was, this place was bombed by the Tamil Tigers back in 1993, if I remember correctly. Heck, all my office colleagues told me that they only targeted public transport. So much for local input!

I did buy a lot of tea - it was cheap and yes, they are good. Got myself a white sapphire, but it appears I have dropped it in less than 72 hours after buying it. Haiz. Guess precious stones are not the thing for me. Good thing it wasn't a diamond or a gift for a loved one.

Stayed in Hilton JAIC Towers. They are service apartments, but like a hotel in many ways. My suite was USD 105 per nite, and it had three bedrooms. It was a little too big for my liking - especially when I am alone. Can be scary at night. One morning, when I got up, I released that my bedroom door was slightly ajar. I was pretty sure I locked it the night before. Anyway, I rather believe I have a bad memory than the other alternatives - someone came in, or there is ghost after all. I rather live with bad memory. May not be able to handle the truth.

With such a nice hotel, I only wish H was with me ... to enjoy some intimate moments together. Gosh, I do miss travelling with her.

All in all, I did enjoy myself in Sri Lanka. It was dangerous but exciting. It was like a page out of the history book - but hey, that's the "Good Old Days" everyone is talking about. I sure hope to return to Sri Lanka again.

Off to Colombo

After being in the freezer for sometime, I am off to Colombo next week for business. Or so called business trip. The local partners there have yet to even call me, but what the heck, I've decided to at least relax in a nice hotel. The only risk is the civil war which has intensified lately. Then again, if one's time is up, it's up.

Work aside, I've had a good time with H. She was free. Oh boy, after such a long time not 'doing' her, it was so nice to have her in my bed moaning and clutching me. Oh yes, I also miss her oral skills very much. She's great. And now, I miss her again.

Surprising, I got a message from a AFF member, just turned 17. I've actually given up on my AFF account. It attracted mostly working gals. Not what I have in mind. This 17 year old, let's call her Cat - needed money urgently. She said she was willing to do a deal - one whole night for Rm 400. Haiz. More gals asking for money. I have declined the deal, but I do feel sorry for her. She says that she doesn't have a place to stay, is almost out of money and to top it all, is pregnant. Well, I am not about to just dish out money like that, but yes, I do feel sorry for her.

In any case, I will be busy packing up for my trip. Lately, I'v been busy doing some reading, stocking up on engine oil, planting vegetables (oh, not cucumbers or bananas!) and doing some research on pest. The latest experiment is to kill ants with artificial sweetener. Doesn't appear to be working yet, but I will keep all posted.

The Ant and the Grasshopper

Here's a good story to summarize the situation in Malaysia. The Malaysian New Economic Policy (NEP) is not only a racist policy, but it only enriches a selected few. I am all for a policy which helps the poor, regardless of race.

Older Traditional Version
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & playsthe summer away.

Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no foodor shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Modern Malaysian Version

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant ' s a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. TV1, TV2 & TV3 show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

The majority of the Malaysian Parliament stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper allowed suffering so?

Khairy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant ' s house. Nazri goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter. Most of the related people criticizes the Malaysia Government for not up holding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The local news paper & the Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

Deputy minister immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers. Hishammudin makes 'More Special Reservation' for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & in Government Services.

The Ant; fined for failing to comply with 30% sharing and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes; its home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by maju ---------. Prime Minister announces to the whole Malaysia that this is part of the NEP and all have to respect, no question ask and have to follow it.

Many years later The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company. Hundreds of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in Malaysia because of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, Malaysia is still a developing country! Malaysia Boleh!

A long absence

A number of things to update, but all in all, nothing much to shout about. The progress to find a fuck buddy has been halted. No, I still have interest to get a fuck buddy, but most of the response I receive would be from prostitutes or someone looking for a husband. Something in between appears to be difficult.

Working life can be summarized by one word only - Wally. I've been demoted to an executive, with the job scope of a acting Head of Department. Go figure. Firstly, those bozos do not want to pay me for what's worth. The sight the lack of experience but I am now handling tenders which totals up to a billion ringgit without exageration. A bunch of idiots. If they don't trusts someone, they really should just get rid of him or her. So, Nible2 management comes up with some half baked stories, denied me a pay raise and but awards me with more work. Needless to say, I am a first class Wally by now.

I could understand perfectly well why AC has decided to exile me. Heck, when I was pratically heading marketing, I got rid of all the corrupt vendors. Imagine, UPs could still delivery T-shirts with the wrong logo, after being our vendor for the last 10 years. But due to many personal vested interest, my move did not fare well with many. AC was smart. All the idiots were enlisted again. And yes, she went on to appoint some of her mates as vendors. Better still, she blew the year's budget within three months. Ah, well done.

Yes, I am completely demotivated to work for Nible2. I am actively job hunting and playing Facebook games. Am I sad? Heck, of course not. It is just business after all.

Make Over

I have been introduced to another gal, let's call her my Astro gal. Intro was by a mutual friend, Y. I've known Y for some time and we have been somewhat close friends.

Y was wondering why (no pun intended) I have not asked her for Astro gal's number. I said, I would prefer to meet Astro gal again and ask her for her number. By the way, I think Astro gal is really pretty. She's tall too!

Y then sheepishly suggested that I should really get a make over. I am game enough to try and I've even asked Y to be my makeover consultant, unsure if that's a good choice. Y is sure eager to start work.

What bothers me is, should I care to do a make-over? I really should just be who I am. If I have to change my looks just to attract gals, surely the relationship is rather 'skin-deep' only. Why can't people accept others for who they are? What if I get dis-figured in a car accident? Will she dump me? I rather have someone who accepts me for me. I will do likewise. Sure, I admit I can do with a make over, but the idea of requiring a make over for a relationship scares me.

What a girl wants

Been flirting a fair bit with my ex colleague, C, who is currently single. She is looking for a boyfriend, but I do find it somewhat strange. Firstly, she has mentioned that she wants to have full control over her bf.

I then asked her, what do you want in your bf. Oh, she wanted a generous guy, a gentleman and treats her well.

Now now. Where is the love? At no one, she mentions that the guy must love her. What she wants, could well be fulfilled by a sugar daddy - generous gentleman. But really, where is the love? Why would someone want to control another person in the relationship? Instead of what is best for the guy, or what's best for the gal, why don't people say, what's best for the couple? Why not what's best for the relationship?
I am still flirting with C and W. W has shown some interest, but I intend to be just good friends with her for the time being. It is a bit easier to carry out conversations with W lately. No idea why. Either way, wish me luck!

Montfot Boys Home

It has been indeed a very good weekend for me. I am happy. OK, I have realized I've been a bad blogger too.

Today, I was at the Montfort Boys Town (MBT) Open House Carnival. Being a regular donor, there was a flier informing me of the event. The bad blogger comes in when I did not help promote this event on my blog. Good thing the turn out was good.

Although I have made many donations, usually in small amounts, I have never been to the place. So, this morning, I though it would be a lot of fun to visit MBT.

Just before visiting the place, I was rather worried too. I have been to some charitable organizations (like old folks home) and I ended up being very depressed when I left. The sight of partially neglected folks don't gel well with me.

To my big surprise, the place was indeed a very happy carnival. The kids were not neglected. They look happy and very enthusiastic about their work. It was indeed a party place.

What's so heartwarming? The kids. The smile of their faces. That's worth millions, really.

Then, to see Malaysians, regardless of race or religion supporting a good course. There were Malay / Muslim food stalls. This enforces my believe that left alone, the public is
not racist or discriminate. It's really the governments and politicians who would stir things up for their own gains. For their own job security.

MBT has their own classes, such as baking lessons etc. So, today, the kids were proudly selling their products. Yes, that's the result of a lot of hard work and support from the public.

The really moving part is, there's a section of stalls set up by the alumni. It says "MBT Alumni" and something along the lines that they have made it with 'your support'. Very moving indeed to see the good results of the system.

Even the bigger corporations ( I think this is Ayam A1) supporting a good cause. Domino's Pizza was there too. And the Bar Council had a stall to give free legal advice. Not bad at all.

Oh, I spent about RM 100 there. Bought heaps of food. Most of them tasted very good. In any case, it is for charity.

Moments ago, I was chatting with another friend. Poor gal. She is all stressed up, because some of her classmates are married to a 'rich bastard' (in her words) and another has a nice Honda Civic. So, once again, what has become of us? To measure ourselves in terms of Gucci and cars and rich bastards for husbands? What happened to charity? What happened to being compassionate? What happened to helping others?

Material wealth is just a way to fill in our void. Our void of happiness. Sure, I would be happy to get a Gucci, but for how long? Till I see the next 'bastard' with a bigger Gucci tie? Silly isn't it?

And think about it. If I were to drop dead tomorrow, do you think Honda will send me flowers and say "We miss a good customer"? Or is it more likely for others to remember what we have taught others? I sure can remember my teachers. And strangely, people remember the things I tell them too (like Same Shit Different Buckets).

Nett nett, I want to be remembered. Remembered for something which I have contributed. Something that I have taught. Doesn't matter if they do not remember me personally, but at least remember the little knowledge which I have passed on to them. That would be very heart-warming. And it would sure last a lot longer than any Gucci or Prada items.

Left: The clock tower, which is the landmark for MBT.

Now, I am looking for ways to be a volunteer teaching for the kids there. Part time at least. My physics and engineering is a little rusty, but I sure hope to be able to contribute to the society.

Success

I had an interesting after lunch conversation with a friend, Y. Y was commenting that there was a lot of work to be done in the office and she needed to start working late. She also mentioned that another friend of her was working way too late till there was no time to go to the gym.

Which is when I started posing her a simple question. Why work so hard? After all, work is work. I mean, it should be an honest day's wage for an honest day's work. No more, no less. Sure, by all means, work darn hard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. But why work late everyday? Working late once a while to complete some urgent and important work is fine. But daily? Something is terribly wrong.

After much thought, Y finally answered "For success and fame". Something was even more wrong with the answer. Let's study it for a moment.

If success means money - hmmm. Have you ever heard of a cubicle worker getting rich? I don't think so. You seen a cubicle worker getting enough money to even get by? Hardly. Same with fame. Any famous cubicle workers? Heck, even William Hung did not get famous by sitting in a cubicle. He had to perform for it.
So, it wasn't really success. She changed her answer to dedication and responsibility. I went on to ask her, what's the definition of dedication / responsibility? Let's look at the bigger picture. What about responsible as a pillow owner, I asked. I mean, heck, we all do own pillows. We have to accompany them at night, slept on them, hug them. So, by working till 2am daily, we are neglecting our duty as a pillow owner. Sounds funny, I know. What if the pillow in question was really your boyfriend? Or girlfriend? Or mother? Or father? Or perhaps, even all of it? Does anyone want to be responsible mother?

Personal successes are also important. "I manage to stay fit". "I lost 10 pounds" (which is my dream for the moment). Why neglect gym? Why neglect sleep? Why not a good laugh in the cinema?

And even with success at work, why not put a timeline to things? I am sure a lot of us, Y included, were very successful during days in university. But do remember. As well as we do for exams, we had 3 hours, or 2 hours, to complete the paper and hand it in. So, why can't we do the same for work? Allocate a reasonable amount of time, complete what we can, and hand it in?

And the most important thing is, why can't we have fun while working? Why does one hate work so much? Go do something else. As much as I complain about Nible2, I enjoy my work a lot. Despite the bitching and some bad moment, it has been fun. I have learnt a lot and had great fun, all paid for. Why prostitute ourselves to do things that we hate?

This reminds me, again, of a senior consultant. He would gentle remind me when I was stressed at work "Always remember. Only God can do miracles. We are only human. Just do what we can." Words of wisdom, I would say.

First Class Idiots

Will the driver / owner of WPK 6393, a black Toyota Vios, please identify yourself? I have just received this in an email. No idea who the photographer is, but I would sure as heck like to find out who the driver was.

The location is obviously the newly renovated Sunway Pyramid car park. It's Level B1, pillar K13.

The driver of this car is what I term a First Class Idiot. Now, should someone present the owner with the appropriate medal?

What kind of person would do such a thing? Once again, my mind boggles. Would you want this person to be your lover? Or your boss? Or your employee? What kind of hurry was this driver in? Or is the driver physically handicapped? I doubt so, because there are no signs on the car to say that the driver is handicapped (usually they have a sign to inform other drivers).

This only re-enforces my believe that we need a serious paradigm shift. Why does everyone wants to be the most pretty, the most good looking, the slimmest, have the longest penis, have a nice car, be rich? Why don't we all want to be more passionate? More caring? A loving husband / boyfriend / girlfriend. What good is a longer penis if they are inconsiderate? Or driving around with a good looking car but behaving like a goon?

Even on Facebook, applications are only about getting rich, building more cities. The application Owned, for example, is all about getting rich. I wish there was a way for this application to donate my 'lunch money' to my friends. Why not? I love a gal. Instead of having a bidding war, I just give all my 'lunch money' to her.

Today, I've just added the application 'City' or something like that. Once again, I do not find the "mass migrate" feature. What if I want to send the citizens of my imaginary city to another city to help them build-up their place? And heck, everyone wants to build up their 'city'. Why not preserve the place? Build parks? As for my city. I want to be the most compassionate. I welcome all citizens, including mass murderers, beggars, nuclear scientist, flying terrorist and yes, even engineers. At this stage, I cannot help but to wonder what happens if I send a bunch of my compassionate citizens to another city!

Trying not to loose any faith in humanity, I am trying very hard to believe that this photograph was staged. What do you think?

Mind Boggling

I am very amused. Australia has a policy to grant permanent residence (PR) status to professionals or to people with skills in need. In the news today, a group is lobbying for sex workers to be recognized for migration to Australia.
As an engineer, I was once granted PR for skilled migration - engineer. To qualify, one must have accredited engineering degree, etc etc. Which leads me to the question - how exactly will Immigrations Australia 'qualify' sex workers.

Firstly, I would be sure interested to be an immigration officer to assess sex workers. I am sure that could be a darn fun job. Would there be a section on oral examination? What would be the most polite way to say "Please bend over. Immigrations would like to screw you?". Don't they (governments) do that often enough already? :P Or bonus points be given to applicants with pole dancing skills? Or is that a separate skill set all together? How about tricks like putting on a condom without using hands? Or perhaps "Please demonstrate all positions ...". Hmmm. And what if they are into S&M? The mind boggles.

How does the applicant acquire accreditation? From a professional body (no pun intended)? Or from client references? Client satisfaction survey? Is more experience better or less experience better? How much 'training' would be required? Would there be a age limit?

Assuming that the applicants have a clean bill of health, inspectors / officers might still have a few worries. Imagine, what if one day, he is not up to expectations? Or unable to perform? Would he go "Hey Dick, mind standing in for this one? I am a little exhausted." What if they are married men? "Sorry honey, not tonight. We were really short of manpower at work." How would repetitive stress injury be address? Will WorkCover caution "Enter with care"? Or "Remember to change positions every five minutes". Or Unions demanding "better work conditions" (refuse to perform unless beer is provided on the job) ? Worst of all, what if the inspector sees a candidate that he doesn't want to assess? Will that affect his bonus or promotion at the end of the year?

How about perks for the job? Unlimited supply of Viagra? Free access to gyms (they do need to stay fit to be up to the job)? Free porn? Or will training be provided for the job? Subsidized dildos for wife / spouse / girlfriend(s) ?

There is also an element of abuse. What if the officer enjoys his work too much? For example, he may find it very enjoyable to examine a candidate. To ensure follow up action, he fails the candidate and orders a re-sit. That would be gross violation of authority. So, will someone suggest the examination be carried out by two examiners at any time? Kinky. Or will it be " for quality assurance purposes, please note that your call / act will be recorded for monitoring purposes"? Reminds me of calling Commonwealth Bank.

Looks like there is still alot of probing to be done on this issue. And don't get me started on gays, lesbians, gigolos... After all, one must not discriminate.

When was the last time you prayed?

During my last trip to India, my colleague took me to see a clairvoyant. How much do I believe in a clairvoyant? Well, I believe a monk sums it up the best... the future is uncertain. I do believe that the future is uncertain.

The clairvoyant did make some predictions, but one questions that got to me was "When was the last time you prayed?". I admit that I am not a religious person, but I would have felt better if I could have answered "10 years ago". Why? Because at that point of them, I did not even know or remember when was the last time I prayed.
Not praying is one thing. Cannot even remembered the last prayer is really bad. I could not even say I do not pray. Urrggh. This is really bad.
So, nett nett, what does this mean. I think I will spend less time having fun or travelling for business. Time to spend some time on other stuff. I do not believe in spending too much time praying per-se (I think the time can be better spent doing something else) or spending money to build a bigger temple / church. I rather do some charity work whereby the money goes to the poor.
Coming weekend, I intend to go to Montfort Boys' Home's fun fair / Open House Carnival. After that, I would try to spend more time doing pro bono tuition for the poor. I am worried what subjects could I teach after all these years away from the academia. Then again, I am sure there are areas that I can contribute towards.

Agent 99

More updates from Nible2. I enjoy having breakfast with my fellow colleagues who has a sarcastic sense of humour. In Nible2, the Sales team loves to say that every sales potential has a 99% chance of Nible2 getting in. From past record, the 1% usually un-hinges everything. It's not because they did not work hard, but I think they just fight the wrong battles.
So, given their popular 99% chance of getting products, we now name the latest addition to the Sales force as "Agent 99", with reference to Get Smart. Come to think of it, they do fit the character Maxwell Smart well. To say the least, Nible2 (myself included) are a bunch of bungling idiots.
I am still darn free in the office, with no work assigned to me by AC. She's really keep me in cold storage. Which is good, because it gives me time to update my resume and my CV. Gives me time to blog too.
If and when I ever leave Nible2, I would have to thank the MIS manager. He has blocked many sites, (like YouTube, Friendster, Facebook, MSN, Yahoo Chat, G Talk, Skype) - with good intentions. It is good to ensure staff doesn't waste too much time on such websites and to save on Internet bandwidth.
The part that I am very thankful is, access to the essential sites, such as Jobstreet, JenJobs and of course, my blog, is still open. To the very least, he is kind enough to give us a lifeline!

Monday Monday

I am sure that there is nothing wrong with Mondays. It's just that things happen to go wrong on Mondays. Nible2 was really cold this morning, as if someone has left the air condition running over the weekend. Then, I found out that we are out of toner. To order toner for the printer would take about two weeks. More than a week just for the bloody approvals.

No shit clue what is wrong with the email server this morning - I am not able to receive any emails yet. Which is not bad, as this means that my problems will not arrive to my desk that soon. And it gives me time to update my blog.

Weekend? Oh. Very very uneventful to the point that it was extremely boring. I am broke, partially due to my wisdom tooth issue. H has been too busy making money. So, she is not interested in anything else.

Such is life, full of ups and downs. But I sure hope to keep all the ups and downs to the ones in the bedroom. Hehehe.

New Delhi

As mentioned, I was in New Delhi a couple of weeks back. India, as usual, never had a dull moment for me. I've been to Mumbai many times, but this is my first visit to New Delhi. Naturally, I expected it to be somehow, like Mumbai.

Boy, I was wrong. New Delhi hardly had any traffic jams. The only time with traffic congestion is when the roads were closed for VVIPs to pass. Fair enough. Generally, it was a lot less congested. More space, less people. However, in terms of food, I would prefer food in Bombay. Food in Delhi has is rather 'spicy', too much chili for me. Hotel rooms were less expensive and the room was better than the Mumbai rooms which I had.
Anyway, no point of me writing too much. Here's many photographs, which will speak for itself.

New Delhi Airport undergoing renovations. Not a sight to welcome visitors, but hey, that's India.

Indians are known to be very thrifty, but someone forgot to tell send them a memo. Do not de-face their own currency. They love to use any small white space on their own currency to do calculations.
A boy by the pavement, pouring coffee into small cups. The coffee will then be served to office workers, presumably they have ordered for it. Guess this must be a regular service.

Fruits for sale! Being darn brave, I've actually eaten a fair deal of fruits in India. And lots of Indian food. Whatever it is, I have never had food poisoning in India. Amazing India.

When I was arrived in India for the first time, I could not help but to feel I just got off a time machine. The first time I landed in Bombay, I did think that the British just left the day before. Design of things were from another era. For example, picture above shows the car of some ministers or VVIP. It is a very old design, but it is a fairly new car. They just keep to the old design, with the old look. I love this very much. It makes the place unique, not filled with modern looking cars. This gives the place character.

Sadly, due to the security threat, sandbags and bunkers are a common sight. This was pictured at the entrance of a night market. Why can't people just live in peace? What can one get out of bombing another place? Crazy isn't it?

Part of Humayun's grave. Humayun's grave is actually the tomb prior to Taj Mahal. I've not seen the Taj Mahal, but Humayun's tomb is really impressive. By chance, the photographs did turn up very nice. The sky was just so blue, so clear, not a cloud it sight. It was bloody hot! Oh well, can't have the best of everything. To enter the tomb, the cost for local is Rp 10. For a foreigner like me, it was Rp 200. What more can I say?

Some travellers at Delhi airport.

On the way back to Kuala Lumpur, I had an old plane, courtesy of MAS. It was really old! Good thing I got home safely.

Ashtrays were still available!

General view of the cabin. No personal entertainment system.

Old seat belt buckles. Reminds me when I was a kid, going back to Ipoh on the Fokker planes.

Beats the heck out of me, but the safety signs are in German.

Natural Food

Something that bugs the heck out of when I go shopping. They're tonnes of food, with labels like "All Natural", "100% Organic", "Natural Goodness"... and the list goes on.

I cannot help but to wonder, why on earth does one think that being natural automatically means better? I can think of stuff that's 100% natural, but they are darn harmful. Mercury is 100% natural. So is lead. Sugar is also natural - yet too much is bad. Poisons from spiders, snakes, etc are also 100% natural, but it can be deadly. Water is also natural, but it can drown someone.
Which leads me to think. The best it to do things in moderation. Doesn't matter if it is natural of synthetic, but too much of anything (sex included?) cannot be good.
